Student enrollment at Lake Braddock Secondary- Middle is close to 1500 students per school year. Total student enrollment is between 4,000 and 4,500, however, that number is slightly skewed because Lake Braddock Secondary includes both Lake Braddock Middle and High.

You may be surprised to learn that both the middle and high school are in the same building. This is cause for concern for some parents before enrolling in the school but overall feedback is that there is little interaction between the two.[/su_icon_text]

Students living in Burke Centre, Cherry Run, Danbury Forest, Keene Mill, Lake Braddock, Lakepointe, Ravensworth, and South Run can expect to attend Lake Braddock Secondary if they attend the following elementary schools, Cherry Run, Kings Park, Little Run, Ravensworth, Sangster, and White Oaks.

If you’re relocating from another part of the country you may be unfamiliar with the Fairfax County school calendar. School starts during the last week of August and ends in either the second or third week of June.

Lake Braddock Secondary operates on a block schedule where students alternate classes depending on the day of the week. In-class time is roughly one and a half hours rather than attending every class each day for 45 minutes. Here’s an example of what your student can expect on a day to day basis.[/su_icon_text]

There’s a wide array of courses and electives offered at Lake Braddock. 

• • World Languages: French and Spanish 
  • Performing Arts: band, strings, and drama
  • Fine Arts: drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculpture
  •  Career and Technical Education (CTE): tech education, auto technologies, family and consumer science

Lake Braddock is also a Fairfax County Middle School Advanced Placement Level IV. That means all students in full-time Level IV, center-based classes have been identified as center-eligible by a central selection committee. If students attending neighboring schools do not have a level four program at their school they have the option of attending Lake Braddock.[/su_icon_text]

Bruins Stay After is a free after-school program for middle school students offering a wide variety of activities.
