Woodley Hills has an Advanced Academic Program for students in grades K-6. The school works with teachers to identify students that may benefit from the program, however, you can also request a screening of your child by contact the school directly.

Like most school’s in Fairfax County, Woodley Hills has an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The Woodley Hills ESOL program has 4 instructors that focus on helping students achieve academic success.

There are also a number of programs available before, during and after school to enrich students overall educational experience. There’s a cheer and dance, clubs like the Budding Botantists, and The Woodley Gents.[/su_icon_text]

Woodley Hills Elementary has close to 800 students enrolled in grades PreK through 6.  In the 2016 school year the student-teacher ratio was 14.9 to 1.

There are a few other schools in the area with part-time programs. Woodley Hills is one of the few schools in the area that offers full-time preschool. However, the preschool program is through Headstart and is only open to those that meet the income eligibility requirements,

Students living in the 22309 zip code, specifically in Mount Vernon Manor, Mount Zephyr, Mount Vernon Estates, Mount Vernon Hills, and surrounding areas will Woodley Hills Elementary. Woodley Hills is in the Mount Vernon Pyramid that means if your child goes to Mount Vernon Woods they’ll go to Whitman Middle School then Mount Vernon High School.

One important thing to consider is the school’s hours of operation. Woodley Hills’ hours are Monday through Friday are 8:45 to 3:30 for all grade levels.

If you need to be at work by 8:30 that could present some challenges for you, especially if you’re commuting to the District or the Pentagon.

Woodley Hills offers SACC which is a before and after-school program has with the Office for Children of Fairfax County. However, I have to warn you that SACC often times has a waiting list that’s months long. Check out the SACC website to see if there are spots currently available.

If you are unable to get your child signed up for SACC there are a number of private before and after care programs in the area that will drop off and pick up your child.[/su_icon_text]

Woodley Hills’ PTA works very closely with the school staff to create programs that benefit the children and their families.

The Woodlawn Hills PTA runs many projects throughout the year to benefit the school and education of the students. From fundraisers to orientations to the school carnival, it all happens through the PTA!

There are lots of opportunities to support your child and the school by volunteering in the lunchroom, office, and classrooms. Your level of involvement can be as much or as little as you like.[/su_icon_text]
