Springfield Estates is a center for Fairfax County Advanced Academic Placement. It offers full-time advanced placement for eligible students that focuses on four core content areas. The program is designed to meet the needs of advanced learners.

Over the last 15 years, enrollment in these AAP programs have more than triple which is caused a swell in both the number of schools turned into centers and the number of schools that offer Level IV programs.

Eligible students with Level IV academic placement whose base school doesn’t offer Level IV classes may attend Springfield Estates.

Springfield Estates is a Title I school, which means they receive additional funds through a federal grant to help level the playing field for students in families with lower income. Schools are identified for Title I funds based on the percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price meals.

The Springfield Estates FECEP/Head Start program provides a preschool program for income-eligible students at no cost to qualifying families.

Springfield Estates has a number of enrichment programs both during and after the school day. There’s a chess club, film crew, homework help, running club and more. If your son or daughter has an interest in music they can join the chorus, band, or strings.[/su_icon_text]

Springfield Estates serves students in preschool and grades K-6. Springfield Estates is on the larger side when compared to other schools in the Lee pyramid. There are over 800 students enrolled at Springfield Estates each school year.

Many students living in the 22150 zip code including those that reside in Highgrove Estates, Monticello Woods, Springfield Estates, and Springfield Square may be assigned to this school. Springfield Estates is in the Lee Pyramid that means if your child goes to Springfield Estates they’ll go to Key Middle School then Lee High School.

One important thing to consider is the school’s hours of operation. Springfield Estate’s hours are Monday through Friday are 9:20 to 4:05.

If you need to be at work by 8:30 that could present some challenges for you, especially if you’re commuting to the District or the Pentagon.

Saratoga offers SACC which is a before and after-school program has with the Office for Children of Fairfax County. However, I have to warn you that SACC often times has a waiting list that’s months long. Check out the SACC website to see if there are spots currently available.

If you are unable to get your child signed up for SACC there are a number of private before and after care programs in the area that will drop off and pick up your child.[/su_icon_text]

The Springfield Estate PTA is made up of parents, teachers, and staff. Their PTA hosts numerous fundraisers throughout the year to support the school. They have everything from restaurant night at area restaurants to armchair fundraisers where families can make a small one-time donation. Being such a transient area the PTA is a great place to get involved and meet other families in the area. In addition to fundraisers, they also host social events throughout the school year.

There are lots of opportunities to support your child and the school by volunteering in the lunchroom, office, and classrooms. Your level of involvement can be as much or as little as you like.
