Lake Braddock High offers a variety of programs for academic advancements, career prep, and extracurricular interest.

The school has created a chart to help provide students with an estimate of the workload and demands of potential Advanced Placement courses offered at Lake Braddock High School. You and your child can read the school’s AP memo before registering for an AP course. That way you’ll both have a clear understanding of the responsibilities and expectations of AP students.

There are numerous programs and activities available for students no matter their interest: newspaper and yearbook committee, Model Union Nations, Orchestra, Chorus, a few honor societies, and a host of other clubs and organizations.

Lake Braddock has an Army JROTC program. The JROTC is a leadership education program designed to teach leadership skills, character development, self-discipline, and citizenship.

The school also has an apprenticeship program in addition to career and technical education (CTE) for a child that may not be interested in going to college but would rather focus on a trade.

There are a number of options for students interested in performing arts. Lake Braddock High has a theatre/drama, chorus, strings, band, and even a separate guitar program.[/su_icon_text]

All Fairfax County middle and high schools offer both French and Spanish, however, Lake Braddock also offers German and Japanese language classes. Student enrollment at Lake Braddock Secondary- High is close to 3000 students each school year. Total student enrollment is between 4,000 and 4,500, however, that number is slightly skewed because Lake Braddock Secondary includes both Lake Braddock Middle and High.

Students living in Burke Centre, Cherry Run, Danbury Forest, Keene Mill, Lake Braddock, Lakepointe, Ravensworth, and South Run can expect to attend Lake Braddock Secondary if they attend the following elementary schools, Cherry Run, Kings Park, Little Run, Ravensworth, Sangster, and White Oaks.

Lake Braddock High operates on a block schedule where students alternate classes depending on the day of the week. Like most other high schools in the area, Lake Braddock has facilities on campus to host most athletic competitions. There’s a gymnasium, football field, soccer field, and baseball field.

Lake Braddock has a team for every athlete in every season. There’s cheerleading, cross country, field hockey, football, golf, volleyball in the fall. As winter approaches and temperatures drop they move on to indoor sports like basketball, gymnastics, indoor track, rifle, swim & dive, and wrestling.  By the time spring rolls around students are back outside trying out for baseball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field.
