Hybla Valley participates in the Fairfax County Young Scholars program. Young Scholars is designed to find and nurture advanced academic potential in students from historically underrepresented populations.

Hybla Valley has an ESOL program with 8 teachers on staff. Together they help students that don’t speak English as their primary language achieve academic success.

Hybla Valley is a larger elementary school with over 900 students enrolled each school year.  The school’s grades span kindergarten – 6th and has a 12.5 Student/Teacher Ratio.

Students attending Hybla Valley Elementary School will move through the pyramid system to Sandburg Middle School which feeds into West Potomac High School. Hybla Valley Elementary School serves a multicultural diverse population in southeastern Fairfax County. If you live in Hybla Valley, Grove at Huntley Meadows, Holly Acres, South Meadows, and other parts of the 22306 zip code your child will probably be assigned to Hybla Valley.

If you’re relocating from another part of the country you may be unfamiliar with the Fairfax County school calendar. School starts during the last week of August and ends in either the second or third week of June.

One important thing to consider is the school’s hours of operation. If you need to be at work by 8:30 that could present some challenges for you, especially if you’re commuting to the District or the Pentagon.

Hybla Valley’s hours are Monday through Friday are 9:20 to 4:05.

Hybla Valley offers SACC which is a before and after-school program has with the Office for Children of Fairfax County. However, I have to warn you that SACC often times has a waiting list that’s months long. Check out the SACC website to see if there are spots currently available.

If you are unable to get your child signed up for SACC there are a number of private before and after care programs in the area that will drop off and pick up your child.[/su_icon_text]

Parent involvement has been linked to student achievement. When looking for a school for your kids you’re also looking for a school that’s a good fit for you as well.

Hybla Valley PTO supports the school sponsoring various events throughout the school year.  A few of the PTO sponsored events include a Fall Festival and Family Bingo Night.

There are lots of opportunities to support your child and the school by volunteering in the lunchroom, office, and classrooms. Your level of involvement can be as much or as little as you like.[/su_icon_text]
