The Global STEM Challenge Program at Edison is a three-year program for students interested in learning through solving real-world problems. Students in the program take integrated science, technology, engineering and classes working on issues such as food shortages, creating sustainable energy, and making clean water accessible. If your child is interested in a career in science or technology this may be just the program for them.

Edison’s Army JROTC has a Drill team, Raider team, Air Rifle team, and host a JROTC Academic and Leadership Bowl.

Edison is one of eight schools in Fairfax County that offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. This program encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. Students in the program must do a personal project, complete certain classes and pass required exams.[/su_icon_text]

Like most other high schools in the area, Edison has facilities on campus to host most athletic competitions. There’s a gymnasium, football field, soccer field, and baseball field.

Edison has a team for every athlete in every season.

There’s competitive cheerleading, cross country, field hockey, football, golf, volleyball, and, wrestling in the fall. As winter approaches and temperatures drop they move on to indoor sports like basketball, gymnastics, indoor track, scholastic bowl, swim & dive, theatre, and wrestling.  By the time spring rolls around students are back outside trying out for baseball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field. If you’re relocating from another part of the country you may be surprised to learn that schools in Fairfax County schools begin the last week of August and end in either the second or third week of June.

Edison High operates on a block schedule where students alternate classes depending on the day of the week. In-class time is roughly one and a half hours rather than attending every class each day for 45 minutes. Here’s an example of what your high schooler can expect on a day to day basis. [su_homepage_testimonial author="A Happy Client"]I’ve only shopped for property three times, but Abraham provided a substantially better experience than my previous two agents (even though they all worked for the same brokerage). He knows what he is doing, he is service oriented, he is friendly, and he gets things done. I can tell you that you probably have no idea how awesome a real estate agent can be unless you’ve bought or sold through Abraham. As long as he is around and I’m buying or selling, Abraham will be my agent from here on out.[/su_homepage_testimonial]
