A good indicator for which middle school your child will attend may be the elementary school they attended. Lanier Middle operates on a partial block schedule where students alternate classes depending on the day of the week. On block schedule days in-class time is roughly one and a half hours rather than attending every class each day for 45 minutes. In addition to chorus, students at Lanier can take part in the school’s band or strings program. Most elementary schools in the area offer band in the 5th and 6th grade. If your child has experience playing they can try out for the intermediate level classes.
